“VoIP telephony is a convenient and inexpensive way to provide your business with multiple phone lines, but rolling services of this sort out to an entire office typically requires IP PBX call routing hardware and software that is often expensive to buy, complex to configure, or both.” IT PRO Reviews | Draytek VigorIPPBX 2820 review Posted using ShareThis |

One thing to really consider when you are thinking about moving to VoIP for your business is whether you want it to be hosted or outsourced to another company or having it in-house. What are some of the benefits of a hosted VoIP PBX you may ask; well one thing for sure your call rates will be cheaper, equipments are less expensive and little to no maintenance is needed.
First and foremost, what is a PBX? PBX is a private branch exchange and it allows you to have your own telephone network within you company. With one single landline you can have multiple extensions using a PBX. With VoIP, the PBX converts the IP phone calls into a traditional connection. Cost of Call Rates are lowI know not having to pay really high rates for making phones call sounds really good to you. Well this is one of the great benefits of a VoIP Hosted PBX. Cost of Equipments are very lowYou will not have to own or purchase a PBX. All you need to invest in are IP based phones that will be connected to the network and start making and receiving phone calls. Little to no maintenanceThis part sounds good for you but not us IT guys. Since you don’t own any equipments you don’t really need an onsite IT personnel to support, maintain or upgrade. There are so many other good benefits in having a hosted PBX VoIP solution but these are some of most critical ones I think you may need to know firsthand. In-House VoIP PBX SolutionNow you can choose to have a VoIP PBX hosted in-house but you have keep in mind that you need to have an in-house professional in most cases a certified VoIP or voice communication person to take care of the system by monitoring it, doing upgrades and supporting the BPX system. In this economy we are all trying to find new ways to save and find very cost effective alternative. I think a hosted PBX will be a good way to get you on your way. Voice over Internet Protocol is this new booming technology that allows you to make phone calls using your already available internet service. Let’s say you are paying your cable company or your internet service provider $50 for internet services and you are paying your regular phone company about $50, for the month you are spending about $100. Now can you image using a company like Vonage and/or RingCentral which will charge you a fee ranging from $9.95 to $25 a month, already you are saving about half of your phone bill!
Now you may ask, why didn’t I know about this before, well there are many reasons why but let me tell you one: We are all afraid of change, since we have been around regular phone lines for a very long time it would be hard to just change and move to something else which we barely understand. Well that’s what VoIP does; it allows you to use your current internet service to call. There are some free services online which can be used. |
