Magic Jack – VoIP just for $19.99 a year

Magic Jack – VoIP just for $19.99 a year

Hey you guys when I first heard of about making unlimited phone calls for a flat rate of $19.99 a year I was very skeptical. I thought it was just another scam. Well let me tell you the magic jack is not a scam.

What is the Magic Jack?

The Magic Jack is a small USB like device that you connect to your laptop, computer to make phone calls. I know, you can do the same with Skype, but this is portable. You get to choose your area code. This small device uses the VoIP technology to allow phone calls to be made through the internet. This little device has both software to allow calls to be placed through the internet using a high speed connection and electronics. If you currently have a handset for your landline, just plug it and start making phone calls.

I have a friend who’s located out of the U.S he’s purchased the magic jack and he told me that this device is really good. The good thing is that he’s in Dominica and he has a Miami phone number. How cool is that, thus calling U.S. numbers should not be a problem for him. He called me one day when he first got the magic jack. The call was clear and I didn’t notice any problem. If you travel a lot, you can have a magic jack with you once you have internet connection you can call your loves one back home for *FREEE.. It’s only a yearly fee of $19.99. You can get it at your nearest Walgreens, Wal-Mart; check out their site for a free trial if you don’t believe.

VoIP Apps for iPhone that can help you reduce your AT&T phone bill

Having to work for a company that has remote locations in countries outside of the United States, we know how expensive it is using our phones when we are traveling to those countries. Roaming is very expensive. It is ok for these big companies because they have that kind of money to pay.

Do you own an iPhone and have AT&T as your service provider? Well you should know how expensive it can get using your minutes. There some Applications that will allow you to make phone calls still through your phone not using your minutes but using a WiFi or your data connection.

There are Fring, GoogleVoice, iCall and Skype

Skype for iPhone allows you to:

  1. Make free Skype-to-Skype calls from any WiFi zone. You can call anyone you know that has a Skype. You may have relatives outside of the country for a business trip, at school, and more. You are not home to be on your computer to talk to them,  well use your iPhone to call them for free as you would on your computer.
  2. Call and Text (SMS) phone and mobiles at great Skype rate: if you want to call landline you just have to pay a fee, go to skype.com and find out information.

Keep in mind that you can receive calls through Skype on your phone, just like on the computer if you are not sign on to Skype you can’t receive call the same thing applies for your iPhone. You will not receive phone calls if the application is not running.
